The cost to incorporate in Missouri is $58.00 for entities that do not issue more than 30,000 shares; the fee increases incrementally for every additional $10,000 of capital authorized in shares. This filing fee must be sent or delivered to the Corporations Division of the Secretary of State's office in Jefferson City; the cost to incorporate may also be transmitted online for greater ease of filing.
Along with the filing fee, your business must submit a formation document, called the Articles of Incorporation. These Articles must include the following information:
- Corporate name
- Registered agent, plus physical address in Missouri
- The purpose of the corporation
- The director, incorporator, president, and secretary
- Name reservation information, if a reservation was submitted
In order to be accepted, the corporate name laid out in the Articles must be available for use according to Missouri statute; the name must be distinguishable from any other corporation, LLC, foreign entity, or other business on file with the state.
